The Praetorian Palace in Piran, today a court, was built in the Tuscan style on the remains of an earlier fontico or a grain storehouse in 1301. The construction of the palace was entrusted to architects Giuseppe Mosa and Enrico Nordi, and its renovation was well documented thanks to numerous coats of arms and inscriptions on its northern facade.
