The historic core of Grožnjan has many valuable and old houses. One of the most interesting is the preserved structure from the Venetian period, the town loggia. Pass through the 15th century town gate, and you will immediately see the Renaissance town loggia from 1587. It has four columns and a limestone floor. There are four Roman burial plates inside it. The loggia used to be the seat of the court as Grožnjan had its own statute, compiled in Italian as part of the 1558 notary document, and divided into four books. The fontico or the town's food storehouse, was located above the loggia.
