Parenzana used to be the railroad connecting Poreč and Trieste. Today, it is a hiking and biking route, which viaducts and tunnels create a special atmosphere.

In summer, the old water well is a meeting place for poets who write in various local dialects. Near the well stand a Neoclassical church, several mansions, and a granary.
When in Vižinada, you must see the 14th century frescoes in the Romanesque Church of St. Barnaby, painted in the style of Giotto’s pupils, as well as the 15th century frescoes in Božje Polje. The latter building was used as a warehouse, when Vižinada had its own port on the Mirna River.
